The DJ team/production mob/record label known as Trouble & Bass are earning worldwide recognition as a diverse yet cohesive coalition of low-end professionals. They have a high-BPM, movement centric approach to the heavy and grimey spectra of dubstep and drum n' bass that fills rooms with people who battle the thick sounds with wild movement. Their membership spans the globe and includes AC Slater, Mikix The Cat, Star Eyes, Drop The Lime and Supra 1.

The UK-Based Breakage is a remix genius and producer of bass-centric electronica. He truly excels in tone selection, resulting in a rich sound that dominates the registers, bolstered by deft percussion lines. Also from London comes Zombie Disco Squad, a duo whose production is rooted in the origin sounds of Detroit house music, but who incorporate baile funk and hip-hop into their sound for a wider palette.

As a founder his own techno club and working at the legendary German Eye-Q Records, Chris Liebling was a well established entrepreneur in the world of electronic music by the late 90’s. His professional endeavors earned him the contacts, while honed his producing and remixing behind the scenes and built a following via his residencies at cult favorite dance clubs. As his club audiences grew, so did his platform to promote insanely infectious and pulsating deep techno grooves. He has become an Ibiza favorite, and a remixer by trade who has worked with the likes of DK8, Alex Bau and Sarah Walker. He is an international favorite and a creator whose music unites the most disparate of techno crowds, and the founder of CL-Records. He embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that drives the world of techno and elevates the dance floor.

Desyn Masiello is an artist with a mission far beyond making asses shake. His goal is to elevate consciousness by fostering a sonic atmosphere of transcendental celebration (a good match for Santos!). Beginning in the late 90’s as a lover of trance and progressive house, he would pass out his own home spun mixes which over a year’s time hit the ears of the most influential people in dance music the world over. Soon he was an internationally booked DJ and co-owner of the Alternative Route and Sexonwax record labels. His collection Balance 008 was named “Best Compilation” by Uk’s M8 magazine. Masiello is also a party rocking wizard whose sets combine selections from nearly all facets of house music. His tireless work ethic has earned him the title “the man that never sleeps” as awarded by John Digweed.

Fans of rock and dance music alike have New York City duo Streetlab to thank for creating catchy and danceable versions of some of their favorite tunes. Since 2001, friends Mark “Cosmo” Lamorg and Ryan Leary have been exploring the pastiche between classic rock tunes and their rump-shaking potential with an irresistible formula for electronic remixes. After years of re-inventing popular tracks such as The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” the pair began venturing into writing original material, including “NYSound,” a single that has generated a multi-faceted degree of buzz and coverage since its 2008 release. Since gaining the support of various top-notch radio DJs and record labels, and receiving praise from media outlets from the likes of Billboard Magazine and URB.com, Streetlab is gearing up to release its full-length debut, slated for an April 2010 release. THE HUSH NOW
Treading the line between dusty early 90's indie and the melancholy pop of the oughts, The Hush Now achieve the artisanship that puts them heads above their peers. They garnered widespread media attention when they released their David Newton-produced EP online before playing a single live show. Their Boston brewed sound is a refreshing diversion for the New York underground.

BOTTLE UP & GO
Slide guitar – hell yes. The brash two-piece garage outfit is becoming quite a sensation in Brooklyn, Middletown, and nearby galaxies. A smooth, powerful voice, well-articulated riffs and jackhammer drums are the hallmarks of their bombastic sound.

DAS RACIST (DJ SET)
Since emerging out of the ether not more than two years ago, Das Racist have become the most sought-after force in experimental hip-hop. The trio eschews any posturing whatsoever in lieu of confronting the truth, however brutal or bizarre it may be, on top of off-kilter electro production. Their breakout single "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell" has become rap music's most successful foray into absurdism, but the real meat of their lyrical repertoire are the densely constructed prophetic commentaries on globalization-era oppression, as well as hilarious multi-syllabic throught trains as unpredictable as the subways on which they were written.

Progressive house heavyweight Sander Kleinenberg cites Jellybean Benitez, who has also headlined at Dance. Here. Too., as one of his influences. He is known for his audio visual mixing which adds to the electric drama of his act. Focused on infectious bass lines and funky vocals, Kleinenberg is a big room favorite around the world. He boasts eight critically acclaimed studio albums as well as remixes for Eurythmics, Vincent de Moor, Röyksopp, Justin Timerlake and Janet Jackson.

Openers Sleepy & Boo are all about stripping the electronica scene of inflated pretention and filling it with a carefree, fun-obsessed attitude, not to mention the best in trance and techno. When not perusing their DJ monikers, aptly lifted from Super Mario, they are Basic NYC, grinding promoters of the city's illest deep house parties.

Now that posturing for Facebook pictures is the new two-step, the gossip industry has exploded and the notion of disco has been colonized by wedding DJ’s, many have grown disenchanted with the urban club scene, craving the atmosphere of genuine liberation that seems to exist mainly in nightlife folklore. But those fortunate enough to experience 718 Sessions know what it is to break from trendy superficiality in favor of the authentic underground dance culture. Resident DJ Danny Krivit is one of the engineers of disco, heavily involved in the dissemination of its music and attitude, which in turn paved the way for today’s numerous iterations of dance music. To this day, he presides over the residency wherein freedom and the universal acrobatic impulse eclipse trolling or flexing, and the real club culture is imparted to those wishing to break out of their homogenized scenester hang-outs.

Danny Krivit started out spinning as a teenager at his father’s well-loved spot in Greenwich Village, a hotbed for jazz, funk and soul. As a tastemaker known for breaking new tracks to passionate audiences, he was instrumental in preserving a “soulful” vibe as dance music evolved. His popularity earned him access to tape reels, which he used to create “disco edits,” tailoring tracks to dancefloor usage, a technique that has since become commonplace. With the advent of electronica and techno, Danny evolved his repertoire, but adhered to his underlying soulful aesthetic, in effect making him a living apex of deep disco and house, sharing nights with DJ’s like Francois K, Nicky Siano, Larry Levin, Grandmaster Flash, Dimitri From Paris and Osunlade. His copious volumes of independently released compilations and mix records have made him your favorite DJ’s favorite DJ. To this day he holds down the Body & Soul and 718 Sessions residencies, for which many have traveled across oceans to take in the vibe and participate in the tradition of radically eclectic nightlife.

No one wants to be alone on Valentine’s Day, nor do they want to be judged. That’s why 718 Sessions exists, the communal urge to dance is everything, self-consciousness is nothing. On this particular Hallmark holiday, Danny Krivit will put down an extended set, a testament to the endurance of true passion.
