Jayce "DJ Rupture" Clayton runs in many lanes and never thinks twice about crossing into a new one. His deft handle on the turntables is only matched by his musical instinct, that throws genre distinctions to the wind and ventures into unexpected territories. As a producer, he embodies the notion of "roots" as a reference West African, Caribbean and New York traditions, refining sounds from infinitely diverse sources. He has collaborated with the 80-piece Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Jahdan Blakkamoore, Matt Shadetek, and Andy Moor (with whom he consists a duo called The Ex). He is also a musicologist and radio personality, with a Monday evening show on NYC's WFMU, as well as numerous appearances on WNYC with Carrie Brownstein and other legends of sound.

On June 23rd, he will be joining up as part of the Que Bajo weekly residency dedicated to new school cumbia, Caribbean and aboriginal sounds mixed with sweaty electro. It goes down every Wednesday at 11pm.
